The electoral commission and the advisory committee on elections held a virtual meeting to discuss the preparations for the forthcoming elections.
The advisory committee requested the electoral commission for an update on the status of the election preparations.
The meeting was meant to take stock on the preparations for the upcoming polls, the challenges and constraints that lies ahead and issues to do with political parties.
The NIEC gave an update of its achievements and its preparedness on the election.
NIEC chair Ms.Halima Ismail discussed the Commission’s readiness for the polls and stated that she’ll appear before Parliament on 27th June as scheduled, to give an update of the electoral Commission’s preparations for the upcoming polls scheduled for 2020/2021
