A meeting meant to analyse political parties financing and administration was held in Mogadishu on the 18th September.
The meeting was co chaired by the political parties registration office and Creative associates international.
Political parties are the pillars of democracy and forms the basis for the conduct of a free and fair universal suffrage elections in the country.
In his opening speech,Mr. Said Hashi Warsame, a commissioner with the electoral commission mentioned that its the fourth meeting in a month the commission has had with political parties. He underscored the need for political parties give their inputs in the formulation of the political parties financing regulation framework.
Mr. Warsame urged political parties to take advantage of the opportunity to take their parties to greater heights in terms of financing in line with the political parties law and the constitution.
The participants to the meeting deliberated on certain sections of the political party law on financing and administration of political parties.
