Political parties registration office met with officials of Political parties at the NIEC offices in Mogadishu on the 29th July.
The meeting was chaired by the registrar of Political parties Mr. Mohamed Omar Haydara.
The meeting was meant to take stock of Political parties operations, recent visits to Parties offices for evaluation, Confirmation of parties physical offices and addresses and Political parties financial statements to be submitted to the registrar.
Mr. Haydara underscored the importance of meeting parties officials stating that it helps in the evaluation of the political parties operations.
Mr. Mohamed Mohamud Hassan, director at the Office of Political parties registration, gave an update of how political parties complete the registration process and the guidelines they are required to fulfill by law.
The Political parties representatives asked the registrar of Political parties questions regarding their operations. They indicated security to be a concern in the smooth running of their parties’ operations.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Abdirahman Dahir Dirir, a commissioner with NIEC called on the political parties to fulfill the stipulated guidelines so that they can be officially registered as political parties.
