NIEC Outreach department concludes two-day consultation with Civil society Organizations on Voter education regulation

The National Independent Electoral Commission department of Outreach and Voter education, on the 26th May, concluded a two-day consultation with Civil Society organizations on a regulation for voter education.
The regulation will help the electoral commission and CSOs work together to deliver voter education and public awareness.
The CSOs participants are drawn from Women organizations, youths, people with disabilities and representatives from international organizations who support the commission’s work.
The participants voiced their opinions on what needed to be improved on in the final voter education regulation document.
The participants also engaged NIEC team of senior advisors and legal directors in a question and answer session on voter education as an important aspect in the electoral process.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Ali Hared, a senior NIEC advisor thanked the CSOs for their participation and knowledge sharing so that improvement can be done in the final VE regulation document.
