The electoral commission’s department of Voter education held a consultation meeting on the 25th May with Civil society organizations on Voter education regulation. The meeting was held at the Commission offices in Mogadishu.
The consultation meeting was officially opened by NIEC chair Ms. Halima Ismail. Other commissioners were also present.
Ms. Halima Ismail emphasized on the need to collaborate with Civil society organizations to conduct outreach programs.
The participants of the meeting are from Civil society organizations representing women groups, youths, religious leaders and people with disabilities.
Also present were international organizations that support the commission’s work.
