The electoral commission, on the 18th May, held meeting with Benadir regional administration at their offices in Mogadishu.
The meeting was attended by Benadir region district and ward commissioners.
The meeting was meant to discuss voter registration exercise, voter registration catchment centers and how the commission and Benadir regional administration can work together to achieve this goal.
The deputy Benadir region commissioner who is also Mogadishu’s deputy mayor Hon. Hussein Mohamed Noor assured the commission of the administration support as they gear up to conduct the upcoming general elections.
The electoral commission chairperson Ms. Halima Ismail, speaking at the meeting, stated that the commission is working towards having everything in place as 2020 elections draws near. She also called for the regional administrations unconditional support towards the commission as it prepares to conduct the upcoming elections.
